Don't bring anything new to final fantasy, but it has everything you would want in a classic style final fantasy game so if you like the older final fantasy games with jobs and don't mind the price, its good fun for final fantasy fans and long too ive been playing it on and off for about a year now and I've not even reached the endgame yet!

Not really interested in starting a $28.99 game for free on my iPhone. To keep it in perspective, I bought Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP for $20 (also a handheld title), and they've added cut-scenes and reworked a few mechanics since it was released on PSX, whereas this game looks fresh off a NES.

If I wanted to play an RPG with this style of graphics (and I often do), I'd play something made by Kotobuki, like Symphony of Eternity. I'd pay $8.99 for it, and it would have anime quality character portraits on top of the main NES-style graphics. I enjoy their games just as much as I'd enjoy a Square one; more if you keep in mind that their iPhone games are originals, not ports.

Shame on you, Square.

No like or dislike as I haven't played this; I'm passing based on poor price point. Maybe some of you are not as poor/cheap as I am.

Still playing with game resolution like this ?

True, but they only get away with it because people are willing to buy at such high prices, and they rarely put their games on sale. It'd be nice to either see more original content or cheaper ports, though.

Also, you may get 10-15 iPhone games for $30, but you'd be hard pressed to get that many quality RPGs. Square's games are typically deeper than Angry Birds.

I love SE

It's fun. But,This game is too expensive if you bought all chapters.

New Final Fantasy game, don't let the free price tag fool you, its just like a demo then you have to pay over $30 to continue lol, but if ever anything was worth it, it would be the depth an quality of an FF rpg, someone said its 40 hours long

Yeah, I was like "oh how cool of them to release it for free for the 25th anniversary stuff"… then I almost got a boner until I saw the dreaded "in-app purchase" banner. I knew it couldn't be good. You're right; you can play the prologue, then cough up your $30 bucks to continue.

You can buy individual chapters, but WHY? I'm gonna devote hours of my life getting through two-thirds of the game then bail on the ending?

Graphics are "updated", but let's be honest. Updated to what, 8-bit NES graphics? The "sell" is touch screen controls. I tend to get a little rowdy at times on a tough fight, I don't wanna turn into a 7 year old kid again and throw my iPhone against the wall cause I lost, lol… (admit it, we all did it)… except a $700 phone trumps a $20 game controller if I smash it through the TV.

Save your $30, go buy Chrono Trigger for $9.99, it's a great game… then take the extra $20 and go get FF13 and FF13-2, which were also great— and the graphics are sexy; you won't be playing on Atari looking stuff.

True, graphics don't make the game, but $30 makes the game an expensive pixel punishment. Besides, I was using NES/SNES emulators since the ancient NESticle, GeneCYST, and zSNES days. Bloodlust software. Any of you young ones even have any idea what I'm talking about? If you do, props. Also, you're old. But that's cool, I am too.

So anyway, Chrono Trigger is solid all the way through— and Flare here tends to have a thing for Chaos Rings, if I'm not mistaken. Third alternative; get FF1, FF2, and FF3 in the app store.

I MIGHT have tried this out, but for $30 bucks the software needs to lick on my bag while I'm playing it, you get me? We can have two final fantasies going at once.

Lower the price, Square/Enix. And stop putting out the FF7 PC version you released 10 years ago. The PC version sucked then and it really sucks now.

Get it together! Stop wasting time on 20 year old games for niche audiences and put out FF Versus already. Or remake FF7 (actually remake it for PS3, not an emulated PS1 port)… still waiting for that FFX to surface, Flare.

Keep me updated! I don't wanna have to make a good old fashioned comeback here!
