This app is useless, and let me tell you why:
1) It analyzes a rogue wifi-connection only AFTER you get connected to it
2) it doesn't ANALYZE anything significant in terms of security

Guys, the only proper way to secure your connection in unsafe environment , is to tell your iphone/ipad use the on-demand VPN connection BEFORE the connection is made. I know it sounds silly, but this is the only way to get a secure point-to-point (tunnel) encryption of your data in a rogue wifi connection. What happens is once you connect to a wifi, your device will seek a connection to the given VPN server and only the it will allow safari, push-notifications and all your other apps to exchange data with the world. So in other words, if it can't get connected to VPN, no data would be allowed to pass through that 'rogue' wifi connection.

So I recommend you find a good VPN provider (Witopia or StrongVPN for example) and use their native apps or an open-source app OpenVPN.

The fact that it sends data to their cloud servers is a red flag--what data? Maybe your wi-fi info including passwords. No way!
(05.10.13 - 04:45)
@Ricardo Antonio:
Let's be a bit REALISTIC here! and not paranoid. First of all whenever you click on a URL - you're going to a server outside your own LAN or WiFi network ... so you're already going to outsider servers every day. Maybe your ISP is tracking you through all your URL clicks. If you use another service (other than your ISP) for resolving your URL (which I do), then maybe that other service is tracking all your URLs. And you can't get away from using this service no matter what. So perhaps these outside servers that you've been using since the first day you got on the Internet -- already have collected every last single URL you have ever clicked in your lifetime and have it logged - ready for someone to "review your activities". ... LOL ...

I understand that whenever you click on a URL data is being sent wherever. You're missing the point as to the app sending wi-fi info to their servers--it's sated in the app description. I don't this this is paranoia but prevention and being consciously secured. I've seen apps that actually display the wi-fi password, so I'm afraid this app will also send that as part of what they collect. BTW, are you the developer? You seem extremely concerned about the negative reviews.
(05.10.13 - 06:00)
@Ricardo Antonio:
Nope, not the developer - or any connection to the company. I never heard of them before a few hours ago.

I just think people get way too paranoid for the reality of the situation, as it exists today. For example, every phone call is recorded and authorities can go back and check on conversations in the past - if they want. If anyone thinks they're keeping anything secret these days, they are sadly mistaken.
