Faded is the premier all-in-one photo editor for iPhone and iPad.

Professional photographers can’t live without it. Amateurs can’t believe how easy it is to look like a pro. Just check out #madewithfaded on Instagram for proof.

No matter what your skill level is, you’ll love Faded’s gorgeous, film-inspired looks, and the powerful editing tools will help you take your creativity to the next level.

Choose from 66 filters for FREE or from 36 premium filters available for purchase. Faded’s custom filters bring the nostalgia and beauty of classic film to your photos. You can preview each one in large grid format.

Group your own edits and adjustments and save them as filters. You can later apply these custom filters—which professional photographers call “actions”—to any photo. You can even apply your custom actions to multiple photos at once and do a “batch” export.

Experiment with color-bursting gradients, light leaks, emulsions, and unique frames to give your photos a one-of-a-kind look. When you want to give your photos more depth and complexity, check out the premium effects.

Maintain complete control of your images. Must-have tools such as manual exposure, hands-free snap shutter countdown, compositional grid or square format, split exposure, focus points, and burst mode ensure that you’ll be ready when the perfect shot presents itself.

Customize your photos with 12 professional, custom adjustments, including fade, highlights, sharpen, exposure, shadows, grain, and others.

Layer an image, solid color, or pattern over your original photo. You can then adjust the opacity, filter, and blending to create truly remarkable pics.

Access your complete adjustment history. Faded’s non-destructive editing enables you to revert back to any point in the editing process and save your adjustments as custom actions.

Perfect your images faster with the help of the app’s clean, intuitive navigation.

Choose from 3 export resolutions and upload your photos directly to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, Dropbox, Evernote, and email. You can also simply save to your camera roll in high resolution.

Be sure to tag your photos with #madewithfaded and follow Faded's instagram @madewithfaded to get sneak peeks at new features.

"Full resolution support" appears to be up to about 7.1mp (3268 x 2172), which is what I got from a 12mp image saved on my iPad Air. There is a slider available during the save function that allows for three different resolutions. I got the same results on the iPhone5. This is an improvement over the original, but still not great. I'd like to see the resolution cranked up to the 11.1 standard (4096x....) found in so many new apps. All that being said, this really is a first rate app, well designed and feature rich. I do love the collection of effects and features (I IAP'd them all), and I can live with the resolution because all the other features balance it out.
(05.07.14 - 18:52)
How much can you do with no inApp purchased? Is it still with buying or not even worth the download?
(06.07.14 - 18:38)
Because I bought them all, I can't tell which ones were free and what came with the IAP. As I recall the standard ones were nice, but you get a lot more for he IAP. The description says 46 free. I think it is well worth the $. I don't think it has been free yet, maybe waiting to see if the developer takes it free for a while.

I have all the in-apps but used the basic app for some time by itself, always liked this app.

I get full (8MP) 'full resolution export' out of an 8MP photo from my 4s-library
(22.10.14 - 22:30)
@Ken Dschun:
On my iPad Air, I still only get a max length of 3264 x 2169 +/- 7mp or 10mp 3264x3264. On my iPhone 5 the maximum seems to be the same 3264 on the long side.
Allgemein (27.01.14 - 08:36)
Reading the comments it looks good, but I would not want to be one of the many similar apps, we see!

Today's update has fixed the missing Events album issue on iPads. Other minor bug fixes, too.

Love this app.
VSCOCamera with steroids.
Allgemein (22.12.13 - 02:45)
The developer has responded to my inquiry (the same day) and advised that they will are forwarding the album issue bug to the programmers. Also look for a Universal version in the future, if so any IAPs will still be good. I for one will take the plunge. The app is that good.
Allgemein (21.12.13 - 17:19)
This is a well designed, full-featured app with a beautiful and functional interface. The 2592 resolution is not perfect but if you do square images (and resize to 2592x2592 first) you can get a decent sized print out it. The app will resize any rectangular image larger to 2592 on the long side giving you something like 1700 on the short side, so if you are going square, crop it yourself first before loading the image, otherwise you only get 1700x1700 by cropping inside the app.

One issue for iPad users is the app does not "see" folders/albums created by the Camera Connection Kit, so the only way to see these images in the app's Library screen is to create a separate album and link the CCK images to it first. The app will see albums/folders that are created by users or other apps.

I have contacted the developer about this oversight, and also suggested improving the resolution a bit. Since the app has additional FX for an IAP I asked the developer about any plans for an iPad or universal version in the works. I don't want to invest in IAP for an iPhone version only to find an iPad version hitting the store that would require me to buy everything all over again. If it goes universal then that is not an issue.

I'll report back if I hear from the dev.

The app is certainly well worth the $.99, and the additional FX you get with the IAP, while costly at $4.99 for everything, are there if you want them.

I always appreciate your thoughtful detailed reviews, thank you! More than once I've decided to purchase (or not) based on your rec's. Never regretted :)
(13.02.14 - 19:32)
I agree with jennmk! I love your detailed reviews! You're starting to make me look bad?! Lol!!! Nah, just razzing!

I'm just very glad to have some great photogs on AppZapp that can, and have, taught me so much more about photography than I could ever have dreamed of learning on my own! I'm just a very novice photographer (pictures taken mostly of friends, family, and my family's many moves and travels when growing up), who hoped to learn more! Had hoped to take photography classes in college, but my time at WSU was short-lived due to finances, so I never got the opportunity. Am just glad I've been able to learn so much from all you other photographers here on AppZapp! Keep up the great photo app reviews and all the info you can throw at us!

@TechnoNut, thank you for all the details that you give in your app reviews! I learn so much just by reading reviews and they are my first stop when I am consider buying an app. thanks for your generosity!

Read the description, not going to duplicate it here...

I am really liking this app but wish it would save at higher resolution. While 2592x2592 is not bad resolution (it is high enough for probably most peoples needs) for those wanting to edit larger images it might be an issue.

It had no issues opening a 6000x6000 image, the app just downscaled it.

While you can see a history and revert back to any point it will not allow edits, which I would like to see.

When you are trying to decide on a Filter or an Effect it shows unlocked followed by all the additional packs and each pack is shown with a different colour outline. On the iPhone or iPad it's show in a 2 wide grid.

My other bug with this app is that it is not universal, it's iPhone and it does not support landscape use.

Currently there are 9 Filter Packs (4 new Filters in each) and 5 Effects Packs (8 new Effects in each) in their store each can be purchased for $0.99 or you can buy all Filters and Effects for $4.99.

At this point I am going to keep playing and have a look through all the in-apps and see if their are any I want.

You can edit virtually everything so you could simply make the ones that you like and not bother with the in-apps.

The app will also allow you to overlay a texture or effect over top of the edit image so if you have a texture library of your own you can use them.

Well worth the $0.99, after that it's up to you if you want the in-apps.

I have a thread on MobiTog along with a couple of edits using only the included Filters and Effects

Thanks for this helpful review. Think I'll get it soon.
(13.02.14 - 19:22)
I agree - thank you as well for the helpful review!
As a heads up, Techno-nut contacted the dev and apparently the dev is making the app Universal someday soon, not a separate iPad app, so buying the in-apps is a go for those with the iPad!!!
(13.02.14 - 22:44)
In the end I did get the in-app for everything.
I hope it goes universal sooner then later but at least seems to be listening.
(19.10.14 - 18:26)
Free now, so I got it. it says with the update it has full resolution export. Whatever that means.
(19.10.14 - 18:40)
Their full size is 3264 long side or 1:1, it will load my 6000x6000 but downscales to 3264x3264 same for my TaruCamera, Cortex etc long side is now 8mp.
Still better then before but would be nice if TaruCamera etc images were full size.
(19.10.14 - 18:59)
How did you get the IAPs for free?
From what I see, they 're being offered for 4.99$
(19.10.14 - 21:55)
That's what I see, too. But at the moment I've got the app for free, not the iApps. And I'm not sure if I will buy them, but I'm sure I'll test it without.
(19.10.14 - 22:04)
Now I got you :)
